SUPPORTING INDIGENOUS MEDIA MAKER

Indigenous Screen Office

UI DESIGN

The Indigenous Screen Office (ISO) is an independent national advocacy and funding organization serving First Nations, Inuit and Métis creators of screen content in Canada. They needed a new website to provide access to resources, inspiration and their funding opportunities.

*Project as part of Denman Digital.

Overall Website

As their brand guideline and extensive photography catalogue as our starting points, we designed a dynamic and colourful website. We used photography in headers, as a way to showcase Indigenous work as the first element to every page. The brand’s icons, inspired by Indigenous linework drawings, were used as watermarks throughout the website.

Funding Opportunities & Industry Initiatives

The challenging parts of the website were the Funding Opportunities and Industry Initiatives, two pages that were hosting a large amount of important information to the user. We used the brand colours as a way to code subject matter and spotlight important and topical content. Font hierarchy and hover state where important as well to guide the user throughout the pages.
